The Opportunity
Clean-Air is seeking a qualified Hygienist with a degree in Indoor Air Quality, Environmental Science, or a related field to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our mission to deliver exceptional client services and create healthier indoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Indoor Air Quality testing and inspections.
- Manage the chain of custody for samples.
- Arrange the analysis of surface, air, and water samples to identify contaminants.
- Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improving Indoor Air Quality.
- Assist in developing and implementing IAQ remediation plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide exceptional customer service.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest IAQ technologies and regulations.
- Conduct routine Indoor Air Quality testing and reporting in PPM maintenance contracts.
- Conduct Indoor Air Quality testing and reporting for one-off mould or suspected contaminated sites, including remediation recommendations.
- Carry out Indoor Air Quality testing sampling pre and post-mould remediation jobs.
- Attend site visits with our Sales Team for scoping microbial remediation jobs.
- Assist our Sales Team in methodological scoping for microbial contamination quotes.
- Represent Clean-Air by attending industry trade shows.
- Explore growth opportunities in Indoor Air Quality Testing.
- QA, sign-off, and finalise reports for all mould remediation jobs.
- Recommend further testing and solutions for buildings post-mould remediation.
- Initiate mould remediation projects, prescribe containment, PPE, and methodology.
- Have the ability to train service field staff and provide customer training.
- Provide commentary, write and contribute to internal IEP (Indoor Environmental Professional) marketing materials.
Requirements
- A degree in Indoor Air Quality, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of Indoor Air Quality principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications/Education:
- AUS University - Bachelor of Environmental Management with Honours
- Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety 2020
- Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH)
- Accredited RESP-FIT Respirator Fit Tester
- Valid Working with Children Card Holder
- Open Class-C Driver’s License

To carry out, efficiently and effectively the cleaning of air conditioning and kitchen exhaust systems as delegated by the Service Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Good interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills.

- A minimum of 6 months experience in the air conditioning cleaning industry.
- A sound knowledge of the installation and operation of air conditioning and kitchen exhaust systems.

- Possess a current driver’s licence for passenger vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To carry out work to specification and/or as instructed by the Service Manager.
- To report work progress and any associated problems or delays to the Service Manager.
- To instruct and offer guidance and support to an offsider, ensuring a harmonious, cooperative and effective work team.
- To monitor the offsider’s progress and report as necessary to the Service Manager.
- To ensure work and safety procedures are followed.
- To liase with the client as necessary and inform the Service Manager of any problems or concerns.
- To ensure the client’s property is not damaged and is kept secure.
- To document any unusual occurrences and any corrective action taken.
- To monitor use of consumables and reorder as required.
- To monitor condition and safety of plant and equipment and report any repairs required to the Service Manager.
- To be responsible for and report any misplaced plant and equipment to the Service Manager.
- To clean and maintain an assigned work vehicle.
- To report any vehicle damage or service related matters to the Service Manager.
- To check compressor fuel, oil and water levels and tyre pressures before use and fill/inflate as necessary.
- To ensure security of the fuel card provided and to retain all receipts for weekly processing by administration.
- To ensure time sheets are correct before submitting for payment.
