Clean-Air Australia is now supplying and installing Aura Air Purification units as standalone devices for business or domestic use.
The units feature UVC as well as patented HEPA Ray-Filter technology. According to Clean-Air Australia they are an easy-to-install, safe and effective air purifying technology. The units provide real-time IAQ data via a smartphone app or API, which can be integrated into a BMS (building management system).
The first layer of the device is a pre-filter that targets large particles, including dust, pollen, insects and animal hair. This is complemented by the Ray Filter technology, which consists of three unique antibacterial layers that target fine particles (PM2.5 and PM10), germs, odours, bacteria, viruses, fungus, and mould spores.
The “Sterionizer” is the next layer. Clean-Air Australia says this “creates the pure air, just like in nature, at your home. [It] releases positive and negative ions to freshen up your indoor space, and removes any remaining harmful pollutants.”
Finally, UVC LEDs have been included to kill bacteria, viruses and parasites by destroying their integral membrane protein.
Indoors, the Aura Air Purification units offer detection of smoke, CO, CO2, VOC, PM2.5, PM10, temperature and humidity. Outdoors, they detect CO, NOX, NO, NO2, O3 (ozone), VOC, PM2.5, PM10, temperature, humidity and weather forecast.
Once the device is mounted on the wall, it can be plugged into an electrical outlet and paired with the Aura Air app through the wi-fi network.
In Australia, Clean-Air Australia has recently installed the devices at Tweed Heads Hospital, Pindara Private Hospital, and John Flynn Private Hospital in wards, birthing rooms, ICU, procedure rooms, nursing stations, and resus rooms. The company is also recommending Aura Air for use in education and aged care facilities.
“We’ve seen increased demand for Aura units as a rapid response to hit back against COVID-19 where larger UVC applications are not suitable,” says Muni Kumar, Indoor Air Quality Expert at Clean-Air Australia.
In August 2019, Aura Air conducted an experiment at the general and oncological surgery department of the Chaim Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, Israel. The purpose of the study was to rate Aura Air’s abilities to clean and purify the air from various pollutants and bacteria.
